First impressions are good, the 3ply silicone TIK does seem like its designed for the job, the inside is much smoother than the corrugated part provided by Smart TIKs and the part just lines up perfectly. Not as rigid as the Smart solid plastic TIK and a fair bit heavier too.
The diameter at the turbo is 32mm compared to 28mm of the smart 74Kw TIK. More airflow = better performance for the turbo / intercoolers.Installation was a breeze following the normal TIK guide, only needed to find a new nut to attach the cycle valve assembly back on (smart TIK has threaded nut attached)
First impressions after fitting, the air induction sound is now much more chirupy than the 74kw one, which is always nice to hear again.Took it for a Dyno test with the Forge and got some definite HP increases in the mid range (perhaps as much as 3 – 4hp) – although the top end HP wasn’t noticeable over the Smart 74kw.

Evilution Conclusion An excellent upgrade if coming from a 45kw / 60kw TIK pipe and definitely recommended, im not going to say its not worth upgrading from the 74kw TIK, but there wasnt a noticable HP increase overall- all its going to do is give smoother air flow and give that middle range HP, which we are all trying to achieve. Looking forward to trying some silicone intercooler pipes next. |
