Leaking brake slave cylinders are a common cause of MOT fails on older smarts. Changing it for a new cylinder can be daunting but it’s OK when you see the procedure.

Identifying The Slave Cylinder

The rear brake slave cylinder sits under the brake drums at the top of the hub.

And here it is with all the braking components out of the way. Other sites waste your time making you remove the brake shoes. This isn’t necessary when you know the trick.
