Remove the dash top button bank to reveal 2x Torx20 screws that fix the central vent in position. Remove these.

Slide the central vent assembly towards the rear of the car…

…and then angle upwards so the screw tabs clear the light guide.

The central vent is now free. You can now see the heater light guide in white and also access the heater slider cables.
